Maha Sudarsana Homam       –          February 8th (Saturday)

 Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center Working Committee invites you to participate in Maha SUDARSHANA Homam. It will be performed by

Sriman S. Venkatesan Iyengar Swamiji, founder of Sri Sudarsana Yagna Samiti, Bangalore, India. 

Maha Sudarsana Homam

                   Lord Sri Sudarsana is an expanded form of Lord Sri Krishna is a very powerful God. He protects the devotees from all evil affects and leads to the success in life, business and bless for a healthy and wealthy life. The episode of Ambarisha and 'Gajendra Moksham' in Srimad Bhagavatam are some of the important events which explain the benefit of worshiping Lord Sri Sudarsana. The Yajur Vedam, Ahirbudhnya Samhita, Sri VaikhAnasa Agamas, Divyaprabandham, Sri Sudarsana Ashtakam of Sri Swami Desikan, Sri Sudarsana Satakam of Sri Kuranarayana Jeeyar and many sages prescribed the importance of worshiping Lord through Sri Sudarsana Homam.


                 
Sriman S. Venkatesan Iyengar Swamiji is a native of Vadakarai, near Srivilliputtur. At an age of 12 years, he mastered the entire 4000 verses of Nalayira Divyaprabandham from K.S.T. Patasala of Srirangam. From 1974 to 1979, he participated in about 90 out of 108 Swadhyaya Gnana Yagnas conducted by H.H.Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanauja Jeeyar Swamiji. From 1979 to 1981 he served as Adhyapaka Swami at Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam. Swamiji studied at Madras Sanskrit College and graduated Vyakarana Siromani - M.A. in Sanskrit from Madras University. He also received Siksha Sastry (B.Ed.) from Kendriya Vidyapeeth, Tirupati. He served as Sanskrit Teacher in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Sri Ramakrishna Mutt & Kendriya Vidyalayas. With the divine grace of Sri Ranganatha, and mangalasasanam of H.H. Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, he Performed 108 Sri Sudarsana Divyaprabandha Gnana Yagnam all over india and Nepal and concluded the 108th Yagna at Srirangam. All the Peethadhipatys participated in these yagnas and blessed him.

 You are all requested to attend with your family and friends and have the blessings and protection of Lord Sri Sudarshana. Homa prasadam (from the poornahuti) will be distributed to all attendees.

 * Level 1  Sponsorship: $51 per family.

 * Level 2  Sponsorship: $116 per family. (Sanctified Lord Sri Krishna – Sudarsana Chakra coin  will be given)  

 * Generous Sponsorship: $251 and above (Sanctified Lord Sri Krishna – Sudarsana Chakra  and Sri Lakshmi gold coated silver coins will be given)
