Maha Shiva Ratri celebrations

Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center Working Committee invites you to participate in Maha Shiva Ratri celebrations. It will be performed by our priest Sri Sharma Samavedula.  

Maha Shiva Ratri.

Shiva Ratri is the night of Lord Shiva when He himself was created by His own Divine Grace and Hindus all over the world celebrate this day with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Shiva Ratri literally means ' the night consecrated to Shiva'. This auspicious festival falls on the fourteenth day of the waning moon in the month of Falgun, (February - March in the English calendar)

Details of the celebrations are as follows:

Date:  Saturday, March 1^st, 2003           

Morning Schedule

• Mahanyasa purvaka Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam : 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
• Aarati and Prasadam: 12.30pm                           

Evening Schedule:

• 6pm to 8pm:  Ganesh Puja, Uma Maheswara Puja, Laghunyasa sahita Prathama yama Abhishekam
• 8.15 to 10 pm: Dwitiya yama Abhishekam, Archana, and Bhajans
• 10.15 to 1am: Tritiya yama Abhishekam, Lingodbhavakala Ekadasa ghatabhishekam,  Archana, Maha Aarati,  and Bhajans.
• 1.30 am to 5am: Chaturtha yamapuja, panchaamruta abhishekam, Sahasra swetapusha archana, neerajanam, Quiz on Indian Mythology, Bhajans, Chanting.
• 5.am : Mantra pushpam, Aarathi, and Prasadam
